Le pagine di questo blog sono più spoglie del solito, per fortuna con Facebook e Instagram riesco a interagire un po' di più e con l'inizio dei test (finalmente!) riesco a scambiare qualche parola anche con chi non si palesa quasi mai in pubblico (ma adesso so che ci siete e siete tante :))
Non voglio tediarti con le cose che vorrei fare e che vanno a rilento, e neanche con quelle che rimando perché ho finalmente capito che non mi basterebbero giornate infinitamente lunghe. Oggi ti racconto qualche novità positiva, quelle che mi hanno procurato un sorriso a cinquantasei denti con conseguente paralisi facciale per giorni e giorni. E spero che, per osmosi, tu possa sorridere un po' con me.

La novità numero uno è la versione in Tedesco del mio libro Amigurumi Winter Wonderland! Quando me l'hanno detto non volevo crederci, la casa editrice che ha pubblicato il libro è la Èdition Michael Fischer che sforna libri meravigliosi. Ha una scelta incredibile di titoli per tutto quel che riguarda il tempo libero: dalla cucina al giardinaggio, dal craft al riciclo, e adesso ci sono anche i miei amigurumi. È in vendita già da Agosto ed io ancora stento a crederci!

La novità numero due è un'intervista sul blog di Mollie Makes, cioè Mollie Makes, cioè una delle riviste di craft più belle-interessanti-conosciute del globo, cioè... svengo. Mentre rispondevo alle domande mi sentivo piccola come una lenticchia e imbarazzata come non mai, ma felicissima. Se vuoi leggere l'intervista, la trovi qui.

La novità numero tre è una sorpresa che si svelerà prima della fine dell'anno. È nata grazie a Simply Crochet e riguarda i miei disegni che sono all'origine di ogni amigurumi, ma non ti dico di più ;)

Number one. The German version of my book Amigurumi Winter Wonderland is out! When they told me I did not want to believe it, the publisher is the Edition Michael Fischer who "bakes" wonderful books. It has an incredible selection of titles for everything concerning leisure and lifestyle: from the kitchen to the garden, from craft to recycling, and now there are even my amigurumi. It is already on sale from August and I still can not believe it!

Number two. There is a post about me in Mollie Makes blog, I said Mollie Makes, that is one of the most beautiful magazines of the world, I mean ... I faint. While answering the questions I felt as small as a lentil and embarrassed as ever, but really happy and pleased. If you want to read the interview, it is here.

Number three. It is a surprise that will be revealed before the end of the year. It was born thanks to Simply Crochet and regards my drawings that are behind every amigurumi, but now I do not tell you more ;)

Qual era la terza novità, ancora segreta, dell'ultimo post? Lui: il Calendario 2016 di Simply Crochet con le mie illustrazioni (se le chiamate "disegnini" non mi offendo!)
Non sono solo disegni carini e colorati, sono i disegni alla base dei miei amigurumi. Li realizzo per capire le proporzioni, scegliere i colori, decidere i dettagli e l'espressione. Per mettere nero su bianco tutto quello che poi tradurrò in amigurumi con l'uncinetto.
Alcuni personaggi sono già apparsi sulle riviste Simply Crochet nel corso dell'anno (la bambola con il cappello da coniglio, il gatto con la maglia a righe, la sirena... ) e gli altri usciranno mese dopo mese nel corso del 2016. Dalla bambola che lavora a uncinetto al cane supereroe, dalle lontre innamorate alla volpe con l'impermeabile. Tanti nuovi e buffi characters che spero ti conquisteranno!
In allegato al calendario c'è un foglio di stickers; disegnarli è stato divertentissimo ed anch'io non vedo l'ora di usarli!

Nella rivista c'è anche un nuovo amigurumi natalizio che ti farò vedere in ogni dettaglio in uno dei prossimi post. È un orsetto vestito da Nutcracker, con spalline dorate, stivali neri e un tamburo rumorosissimo!

Purtroppo in Italia non è facile reperire la rivista in formato cartaceo, puoi trovarla nelle edicole internazionali o riceverla a casa se hai già sottoscritto un abbonamento negli scorsi mesi, ma anche se non potrai acquistarla, mi faceva piacere condividere questa novità :)

What it was the third news still secret in the last post? The Simply Crochet Calendar 2016 with my illustrations!

They are not just cute and colorful doodles, they are the drawings at the base of my amigurumi. I realize them to understand the proportions, choose colors, decide the details and the expression. To put on paper all that then I'll translate into amigurumi with my crochet hook.

Some characters have already appeared in Simply Crochet magazines during the year (the bunny doll, the cat with the striped shirt, the mermaid...) and the others go out month after month during 2016. You can see the doll who makes a crochet scarf, a superhero dog, otters in love, a fox in the raincoat and many new and funny characters that I hope you will love!

Inside the calendar there is a sheet of stickers; draw them was fun and I can not wait to use them!

Into this issue there is also a new Christmas amigurumi that I will show you in detail in a future post. He is a Teddy bear dressed as Nutcracker, with gold epaulettes, blacks boots and a loud drum!

(The digital version does not include the calendar. You can find it at international newsstands or receive it at home if you have already subscribed in the past few months, but even if you can not buy it, I was glad to share the news :))

Poco più di un anno fa, dopo tanti mesi di campanelli dorati, pom pom, gomitoli bianchi e rossi, nasceva lui: Amigurumi Winter Wonderland, il mio primo libro in Inglese che è subito stato tradotto in Olandese e due mesi fa anche in Tedesco.
Ed io ancora stento a crederci.
Sono stati mesi intensi, in cui il lavoro era tanto, perchè si sa che quando prendi un impegno davvero impegnativo per il Teorema del chi più ne ha più ne metta entro poche settimane arriveranno altre proposte irrifiutabili. Ma sono riuscita a finire tutto, vincendo il mio pessimismo e lanciando dietro di me zavorre di ansia.
Tutto quello che è venuto dopo è il bello (e non sto parlando dei diritti d'autore).
Quando ricevo una mail, con una decina di foto in allegato, da te che hai comprato il libro e hai realizzato uno, due, tanti soggetti.
Quando leggo una mail di chi mi segue sempre, ma non commenta mai.
Quando leggo di te che hai comprato il libro senza capire una sillaba d'inglese, e l'hai fatto solo per farmi sentire che ci sei, e alla fine hai imparato anche a leggere i pattern in una lingua che non conosci.
Quando mi chiedi un trucco/consiglio ed io finisco per scrivere una mail chilometrica. E penso che ti pentirai amaramente di avermi fatto quella domanda!
Quando parli con me come se ci conoscessimo dai tempi della scuola.
Quando mi chiedi consigli perché la cucitura perfetta che hai eseguito non ti sembra abbastanza perfetta.
Ecco quand'è che sono contenta di quel che faccio.

Just over a year ago, after many months of golden bells, pom poms, white and red balls of yarn, he was born: Amigurumi Winter Wonderland, my first book in English that has been translated in Dutch and two months ago in German. 
And I still can not believe it.
They were intense months, in which the work was so much, because you know that when you take a commitment really challenging, within a few weeks will come other  irrefutable proposals. But I managed to finish everything, winning my pessimism and throwing behind me the anxiety.
All that came after is the beauty (and I'm not talking about royalties).
When I get an email, with a dozen of pictures from you that bought the book and crocheted a lot of amigurumi.
When I read an email from those who follow me since I started, but never comments.
When I read of you who bought the book without understanding English, and you did it only to make me feel that you are here with me, and at the end you have also learned to read the patterns in a language you do not know.
When you ask an advice and I write a very long email with every detail. And I don't know if you will be very happy!
When you talk to me as if we knew each other from school.
When you ask an advice because you've run an imperfect detail but it seem quite perfect.
That's when I'm glad that I do.

L'inverno sta arrivando. Qui (in Inghilterra) le temperature si sono abbassate moltissimo e l'unico aspetto positivo è quello di poter fare ampio sfoggio di tutti gli accessori in lana: guanti, cappello, sciarpa, scialle, scaldacollo (anche uno sull'altro quando il sole tramonta).
Ma dentro casa non possiamo farci trovare impreparati! Anche le tazze vanno "addobbate" per il grande freddo, ovviamente con uncinetto, filati e bottoni solitari.

Lo schema per realizzare lo scaldatazza è sul numero 27 di Casa Creativa (Dic 15 / Gen 16).

Winter is coming. Here (in England) the temperature suddenly dropped down few days ago. The only positive thing is that I can wear all my woolen accessories: gloves, hat, scarf, neck warmer, shawl (also one on the other when the sun sets).

But inside the home, we can not be unprepared! Even the cups are decorated for the great cold, of course, with crochet hooks, yarns and lonely buttons.

Quando ero piccola l'albero di Natale era sempre pieno di decorazioni in legno, dipinte meravigliosamente. Le mie preferite erano le slitte, cariche di piccoli pacchetti-cubetti di legno. Poi c'erano i cavalli a dondolo, mi affascinavano le pennellate sulla sella e la criniera un po' rigida. Le più pesanti erano le mongolfiere, a spicchi bianchi e blu, cercavo sempre i rami più robusti per poterle appendere senza farle scivolare via. Ed ancora gli angeli, i piccoli Babbo Natale, le casette e degli strani soldatini che a dire il vero non mi sono mai stati troppo simpatici. Fino ad ora.

Tra il libro Amigurumi Winter Wonderland ed altri pattern realizzati in questi anni, non sapevo che soggetto proporre per il numero natalizio di Simply Crochet. L'idea del soldatino dello Schiaccianociè venuta a Sara (l'editor della rivista) e non smetterò mai di ringraziarla perché mi ha fatto scoprire il mondo dei Nutcracker, la loro tradizione e milioni di declinazioni che artigiani e artisti ne fanno in tutto il mondo.
Il mio non poteva che essere un amigurumi e perchè no, anche un orsetto.

Con il mio fidato uncinetto e i morbidi gomitoli di cotone DMC Natura ho realizzato, un punto dopo l'altro, tutti i pezzi e i dettagli. Dagli immancabili stivali neri, al cappello, alle spalline con le frange e dopo aver finito tutto mi sembrava che mancasse qualcosa... certo, il tamburo.

When I was a child, the Christmas tree was always full of wooden decorations beautifully painted. My favorites were the sleds, loaded with small wooden cubes-packages. Then the rocking horses, I was fascinated by the brush strokes on the saddle and the stiff mane. The heaviest were the balloons, painted in white and blue, I found the more robust branches to hang them without making them slip away. And even the angels, the small Santa Claus, the houses and the strange soldiers that actually I have never been too sympathetic. Until now.

Among the book Amigurumi Winter Wonderland and other patterns made in these years, I did not know what to propose for the christmas issue of Simply Crochet magazine. The idea of ​​the Nutcracker soldier came to Sarah (the editor of the magazine) and I'll never stop to thank her because she made me discover the world of the Nutcracker, their tradition and millions of forms that artists and craftsmen make around the world.

Mine is obviously an amigurumi and why not, even a teddy bear.

With my trusty crochet and soft cotton balls of DMC Natura I realized, stitch by stitch, all the pieces and details. The inevitable blacks boots, the hat, the fringed epaulettes and after finishing everything seemed that something was missing... certainly, the drum.

C'è chi arriva sempre in ritardo chiudendo i regali la notte di Natale e chi si ritaglia il tempo per realizzare anche i chiudipacco fatti a mano, personalizzati a seconda del regalo e del destinatario.

Per mia sfortuna non faccio parte della seconda categoria però riesco sempre a realizzare qualcosa, giusto in tempo, di corsa, ma in tempo.

Se come me, volevi regalare maglioni, sciarpe e cappelli fatti a maglia e uncinetto con le nostre mani, ma non hai ancora comprato la lana. Ecco, purtroppo, devo dirlo, i nostri buoni propositi sono andati in fumo. Però ci sono ancora due ottime soluzione:

- comprare da artigiani/maker/crafter/artisti online (su A little Market o Etsy per esempio) o offline.

- comprare la qualsiasi (oggi è black friday!) e realizzare un oggetto piccolo piccolo, ma fatto con le nostre mani e tanto affetto, per esempio queste moffole a uncinetto! 

Puoi realizzare due guanti, legarli alle estremità di una lunga catenella e usarli come chiudipacco oppure realizzarne uno solo e applicare una spilla sul retro ;)

E perchè non decidere di usarli come segnaposto per la cena/pranzo di Natale? Magari declinati negli stessi colori che abbiamo scelto per decorare l'albero oppure in tanti colori diversi quanti sono i commensali? Ok. Sto ricominciando a pensare in grande. Devo smetterla, manca meno di un mese a Natale!

There are two category of people: who always arrives late closing gifts on Christmas Eve and who carves out time to make also the gift tag handmade, customized to the gift and the recipient.

Unfortunately I don't belong to the second category, however, I always make something, just in time, in a hurry, but in time.

If like me, you wanted to make sweaters, scarves and hats on your own with knitting needles and crochet hooks, but you have not yet bought the wool. I must say that our good intentions have gone up in smoke. 

But there are two very good solutions:

- Buy from artisans / maker / crafter / artists online or offline.

- Buy something (today is black friday!) and make a small object, but done with our hands and so much love, for example, these crochet mittens!

You can make two gloves, tie them to the extremity of a long chain and use it as a gift tag or crochet only one glove and apply a brooch on the back ;)

And why not decide to use them as placeholders for Christmas dinner? We can declined in the same colors that we chose to decorate the tree or in many different colors for each diners? Ok. I'm starting to think big. I have to stop, there is less than a month to Christmas!

Durante il mese di novembre, sulla pagina facebook, ho più volte parlato del contest circense di Amigurumi Patterns. Non volevo mancare e quest'anno ce l'ho fatta. Sono riuscita a realizzare ben due soggetti... stento a crederci anch'io!

Prima di presentare il pennuto e il roditore spiego brevemente in cosa consiste questo contest. 

Un contest è una competizione, una gara, un concorso... in italiano sembra una cosa davvero seria, quindi continuo a chiamarlo in inglese. Ogni anno, da tre anni, il sito amigurumipatterns.net presenta un tema per un nuovo contest, le uniche regole sono: amigurumi e originalità. E i premi sono davvero, ma davvero, irresistibili, sono la scusa perfetta per impegnarsi un po' nel disegnare e realizzare un nuovo buffo personaggio amigurumi.

Il tema di quest'anno è il Circo. Il circo vero, quello con gli animali veri, non mi appassiona per niente, ma un circo con pupazzi in lana, cotone, imbottitura e occhi di plastica che fanno le capriole in un fuoco di carta velina è decisamente più nelle mie corde ed è stato divertente pensare a soggetti ancora più strambi del solito: Un pappagallo sul monociclo e un topino trampoliere ghiotto di popcorn.

During November, on the Facebook page, I have repeatedly talked about the circus themed amigurumi contest hosted by Amigurumi Patterns. I did not want to miss it this year and I did it. I got two entries... I can not believe it!

Before presenting the bird and rodent I want to explain briefly what this contest is.

Every year, three years now, the website amigurumipatterns.net presents a theme for a new contest, the only rules are: amigurumi and originality. And the prizes are really, really, irresistible, are the perfect excuse to take the time to design and make a new quirky amigurumi character.

This year's theme is Circus. I'm not passionate about the real circus, the one with real animals, but a circus with wool, cotton and plastic eyes puppets that do somersaults in a fire of red and orange tissue paper is much more in my comfort zone and was fun to think about subjects even more weird than usual: A parrot on the unicycle and a stilter mouse fond of popcorn.

Steno è un topino trampoliere che ama far danni tra i tendoni del circo. Spaventa gli elefanti, sveglia gli ippopotami, spettina la criniera del leone e ruba i popcorn agli spattatori! È goloso e dispettoso, ma sa essere anche un caro e fedele amico.

Carlo è il pappagallo sempre al centro della scena, all'interno del tendone principale, per presentare gli spettacoli. È un sommo esperto di arte circense, un oratore navigato e un buon intrattenitore. Ma ha una strana abitudine: va in giro con un bizzarro monociclo senza pedali!

Steno the mouse is a stilt walker that likes to make jokes around the circus. He scares the elephants, awakes the hippos, mess up the lion's mane and steals the popcorn to visitors! He is greedy and spiteful but knows how to be a loving and trusted friend.

Carlo the parrot is always inside the circus tent at the center stage to present the show. He is a circus expert, a big talker and a good entertainer. But he has a strange habit, he goes around with a bizarre unicycle!

Il mese che precede il giorno di Natale scorre sempre più veloce degli altri, ma quest'anno ho giocato d'anticipo e ho un regalo anche per te: lo schema per realizzare questi alberelli amigurumi.

È una decorazione abbastanza veloce da realizzare, morbida e sorridente.

Se addobbare l'albero con gli alberi ti sembra troppo strano puoi realizzare una decorazione da appendere (dentro casa o fuori la porta) aggiungendo solo un ramoscello e un filo di spago. Eliminando il gancetto possono diventare dei chiudipacco o dei segnaposto natalizi e ci sono infiniti modi per personalizzarli. Io ho scelto le paillettes, ma perchè non provare con perline, bottoni o piccoli ricami? Nel collage di immagini (che puoi vedere scorrendo un po' la pagina) puoi trovare tanti nuovi spunti, sono gli alberelli realizzati da Barbara, Carmen, Carolina, Chloe, Elisa, Ilaria, Marilla, Raquel e Rocio che hanno provato il pattern in anteprima e mi hanno aiutato a presentarlo privo di errori e sviste, grazie a tutte!

The month before Christmas Day always flows faster than the others, but this year I played in advance and I have a gift for you: the amigurumi tiny tree pattern.

You can make this decoration in few hours, and it's soft and smiling.

If for you decorate the tree with trees seems too weird you can make a hanging decoration (for indoors or out the door) by adding just a twig and a piece of cord. Without the hook it become a Christmas gift tag or a placeholder, and there are endless ways to customize them. I chose the sequins, but why not try out with beads, buttons or small embroidery? Look for your favourite way in the images collage, you can find the saplings made by Barbara, Carmen, Carolina, Chloe, Elisa, Ilaria, Marilla, Raquel and Rocio who tested the pattern, thanks everyone!

Il conto alla rovescia per il Natale è partito da una settimana, le caselle del calendario dell'avvento sono vuote per quasi un terzo, ma mica possiamo fermarci qui? Secondo me c'è ancora spazio per qualche amigurumi con gli occhi neri e il sorriso furbo.

Questa è una piccola selezione...

The Christmas countdown has started by a week, the advent calendar is empty for almost a third, but can we stop here? I think there is still room for some amigurumi with blacks eyes and smirk.

This is a small selection ...

1. Santa's Helper (l'aiutante di Babbo Natale), schema acquistabile su Ravelry in Italiano e in Inglese. Ha le gambe lunghe e un campanello sulla punta del cappello; quest'anno ha trovato posto sul mio secondo albero di Natale (sì, da zero a due in un fine settimana!)

2. Orsetto Schiaccianoci, nella rivista Simply Crochet 38 (Nello stesso numero c'è il calendario con i disegni dei miei amigurumi, solo in inglese! ). Lui tamburella senza sosta e quando si concede una pausa lo trovi intento a lucidare le mostrine della divisa.

3. Alberelli sorridenti, schema gratuito in Italiano, Inglese e Spagnolo. È il mio regalo di quest'anno per chi passa da queste parti sempre/ogni tanto/per la prima volta!

4. Mini-Moffole, sul numero 24 di Gli speciali di Casa da Sogno, Crea il tuo Natale. Questi guanti in miniatura sono stati pensati come un chiudipacco, ma si prestano per qualsiasi tipo di decorazione!

5. Alberi e folletto, schema gratuito. L'anno scorso ho ricevuto tante foto con questi alberelli: tra le candele di Natale, sui davanzali o tra le mani dei piccoli di casa, ogni volta è come ricevere una cartolina con un dolce augurio.

Il conto alla rovescia continua, mancano due settimane a Natale.

Campanelli e renne dal naso rosso non possono mancare. La mia renna è un amigurumi, lavorata a uncinetto, con il maglione a righe e le orecchie a punta.

È quella del libro Amigurumi Winter Wonderland, realizzata con gli stessi colori, ma con un filato molto diverso. Sono passata da un misto lana merino ad un 100% alpaca.

È morbidissima (e anche un po' pelosa) e sono certa che continuerò ad utilizzare questo filato per qualche altro amigurumi. Però ho un dubbio: dal vivo ti conquista per l'aspetto soffice, ma nelle foto? La sensazione è la stessa?

It is in the book Amigurumi Winter Wonderland, made with the same colors, but with a very different yarn. The first one was crocheted with a merino wool blend, for this one I've used a 100% alpaca yarn.

It is very soft (and even a bit hairy) and I am sure that I will continue to use this yarn for some other amigurumi. But I have a doubt: it has a soft look, the feeling is the same even in the photos?

Se non ho un uncinetto tra le mani vuol dire che sto lavorando a maglia.
E spesso è colpa delle amiche che mi tentano con i loro schemi o con le novità pubblicate su Ravelry. È facilissimo farmi cadere in tentazione, ma lo è ancor di più quando i pattern sono belli sotto tutti i punti di vista: il design impeccabile, la chart immancabile, le spiegazioni chiare e precise.

Stavolta, e non è la prima volta, sono caduta nella "trappola" di Giusi (Giuseppina Flamini, la blogger di Knittingcakes). Con il cappello Chini è stato amore a prima vista e con il vento di Londra un cappello nuovo è davvero utile. In più, Giusi riesce sempre a farti entrare nel mood del modello, descrive la sua ispirazione (che spesso riguarda l'arte o l'architettura) e rende ancora più interessante immergersi in un nuovo lavoro a maglia.

If I do not have a crochet hook in my hands it means I'm knitting.

And often it is the fault of the friends that make me fall into temptation with their knitting patterns or something published on Ravelry. It's easy to tempt me, but it is even more so when the patterns are beautiful from every point of view: the impeccable design, the inevitable chart, the neat instructions.

This time, and it is not the first time, I fell into the Giusi's "trap" (Giuseppina Flamini, the blogger of Knittingcakes). With hat Chini was love at first sight and a new hat is really helpful with the London's wind. In addition, Giusi always manages to get you in the model, describes her inspiration (often related to art or architecture topics) and makes it even more interesting to dive into a new knitting cast on.

Sulla copertina del calendario 2016 di Simply Crochet c'è lei: la bambola a uncinetto che fa l'uncinetto, con la sciarpa a misura di bambola e la sciarpa a misura d'uomo.

Disegnare i soggetti del Calendario, immaginarli in ogni piccolo dettaglio fatto di cotone e imbottitura, è stato un lavoro meraviglioso. Dare vita, mese dopo mese, ai nuovi amigurumi che sono già disegnati e stampati su carta (e magari appesi alle pareti della vostra casa!!!!!) è ogni volta una piccola, ma divertente, sfida.

Questa bambola è stata da subito uno dei miei soggetti preferiti. Abbiamo in comune l'amore per le sciarpe grosse e avvolgenti e, ovviamente, l'uncinetto. Mentre i capelli rosso pel di carota e le gambe lunghe e magre, sono una proiezione di quello che vorrei avere :D

Potrebbe essere divertente immaginare e realizzare una piccola versione di se stessi, fatta con l'uncinetto, che ci rappresenta tra i gomitoli e le altre passioni. Inizio ad immaginarla come me: con i capelli scuri, lunghi e spettinati, scarpe basse e un maglione color ocra mentre trascina una borsa più pesante di lei correndo per non perdere l'autobus. E la tua bambola, come sarebbe?

She is on the cover of the 2016 Simply Crochet Calendar: the crocheted doll that makes a crochet scarf (a scarf on a doll scale and scarf on a human scale).

Drawing the characters for the calendar, imagining every little detail made by cotton yarn and stuffing fiber, it has been a wonderful job. Create, month after month, new amigurumi that are already designed and printed on paper (and perhaps on the walls of your home !!!!!) is every time a small, but fun, challenge.

This doll was immediately one of my favorite characters. We share a love for large and wrap-around scarves and, of course, for crocheting. While the carrot-red hair and long and lean legs, are a projection of what I would like to have :D

It might be fun to imagine and create a smaller version of themselves, made with the crochet hook, between the balls of yarns and other passions. I can start to think about me: with dark, long and unkempt hair, flat shoes and a mustard sweater while I'm dragging a bag heavier than me, running to not miss the bus. And your doll, how would it be?

Quest'anno è stato lunghissimo e cortissimo allo stesso tempo. È già tempo di regali, stomaco di ferro e film stupidi.
È il mio primo natale a Londra, i cambiamenti sono stati tanti, ma c'è sempre una costante imprescindibile: chili di filati, uncinetti, la macchina fotografica e blocchi di appunti.
La mia mente già macina liste di buoni propositi e si bacchetta da sola per tutti i risultati mancati, anche se faccio finta di non ascoltare. Mi godrò questi pochi giorni di dolce far nulla e poi mi rimboccherò le maniche.
Ti auguro (e mi auguro) di ascoltare di più chi ci sta vicino e di meno le vocine negative che sono solo nella nostra testa. Ce la possiamo fare!

This year has been very long and very short at the same time. It's already time for gifts, iron stomach and stupid films.
It's my first Christmas in London, the changes have been many, but there is always a constant: loads of yarn, crochet hooks, my camera and notepads.
My mind already write down lists of good intentions and think back on all the missed results, although I don't listen. I will enjoy these few days of delicious idleness and then I will start to work hard.
I wish you to listen more those around us and less the negative voices that are only in our heads. We can do it!

L'inverno è ancora lungo, ma pensando bene ai tempi per realizzare oggetti (anche piccoli!) fatti a mano, non è mai troppo presto per proiettarsi in avanti di una o due stagioni.

Così, il primo schema gratuito ad uncinetto di quest'anno è una tag (etichetta) con un usignolo azzurro cenere, con il becco giallo e la coda scompigliata.

Il mio usignolo ha scelto di fischiettare su un'etichetta (sempre ad uncinetto), ma sono certa che potrà posarsi ovunque ;)

Winter is just started, but thinking about the time to make handmade objects (even if small!), it's never early to look forward one or two seasons.
So, this year, the first free crochet pattern is a tag with a blue nightingale, with a yellow beak and a mess up tail.
My Nightingale chose to whistle on a crocheted tag, but I'm sure it will settle anywhere ;)

Siamo vicini al secondo mese del calendario, il mese di gennaio sembra volato via col vento e San Valentino è sempre più vicino. Per celebrare questa giornata dedicata all'amore posso escludere i cuori di cioccolato e le frasi mielose, ma non l'uncinetto.

Per me quest'anno il simbolo dell'amore sarà la lontra. Questo animaletto ha un muso piccolo e simpatico, una lunga coda ed è un abile nuotatore, ma ha una buffa abitudine. Le lontre si muovono in gruppo e adorano galleggiare sull'acqua e nello stesso tempo fare un riposino, il loro trucco per non perdersi tra le correnti è quello di tenersi per mano. Ma quanto sono tenere?
Le mie lontre sono, ovviamente, realizzate in cotone con l'uncinetto, non sono resistenti all'acqua, ma sorridono e intrecciano le code come a formare un cuoricino.

Queste lontre sono realizzate con il cotone Natura di DMC e lo schema (in inglese!) è sul numero 40 Simply Crochet, il loro disegno è sul calendario 2016 al mese di febbraio.

We are close to the second month of the calendar, January seems to fly away with the wind and Valentine's Day is coming up. To celebrate this day dedicated to love I exclude chocolate hearts and honeyed phrases, but not the crochet hook.

This year, for me, the symbol of the love is the otter. This animal has a cute little snout, a long tail and is a good swimmer, but has a funny habit. Otters move in groups and float all together on the water, at the same time they take a nap so they hold hands to avoid to get lost in the currents. How much are adorable?

My otters are, of course, made with cotton yarn and a crochet hook, are not water resistant, but they smile and their tails are shaped like a heart.

These otters are made with Natura DMC yarn and the pattern is in Simply Crochet issue 40, the doodle is on 2016 Calendar for the month of February.

Quando devo realizzare qualcosa a maglia o uncinetto per me stessa non riesco mai a prendermi il giusto tempo. Per giusto tempo intendo quei lunghi minuti per pensare a tutti i dettagli e per far scorrere il filo lentamente e con precisione. In genere mi ritaglio del tempo, poco tempo, e vado di fretta. Metto un punto dietro l'altro il più velocemente possibile sperando di poter indossare il prima possibile il mio accessorio nuovo.

Questa volta è andata diversamente. Volevo preparare un paio di guanti senza dita (ovviamente a uncinetto) per l'ultimo numero invernale di Casa Creativa e ho colto l'occasione per incrementare il mio "parco guanti".

Walnut è il  nome di questi guanti senza dita realizzati con un motivo a ventagli che crea una trama non troppo fitta sulla mano. Sono sufficientemente caldi per un inverno non troppo rigido ed evitano quella noiosa operazione che è il dover togliere i guanti per compiere ogni singolo gesto.

When I want to knit or crochet something for myself I can never pick the right time, I'd love long minutes to think about all the details and to make slow and precise stitiches. 

I generally cutout a bit of time and go in a hurry. I make a stitch after another as fast as possible, hoping to wear as soon as possible my new accessory.

This time it was different. I wanted to prepare a pair of fingerless gloves (obviously crocheting) for the last winter issue of an Italian magazine and I took the opportunity to crochet a pair of gloves just for me.

Walnut is the name of these fingerless gloves made with a fan shaped pattern, slightly like a lacy. They are sufficiently warm for a not too hard winter and avoid the tedious task of having to take off the gloves to make every single gesture.

Sembra passato pochissimo tempo dal primo Zoomigurumi eppure siamo già arrivati al quinto libro, è incredibile! Sono felicissima di continuare a disegnare amigurumi che fanno parte di questa gang di animali all'uncinetto. Devo ammettere che è sempre più difficile immaginare un soggetto mai visto prima, ma il tricheco si è prestato benissimo. Caterino ha un aspetto simpatico (forse per i suoi chili di troppo?) e l'idea di vestirlo da marinaio l'ha reso ancora più buffo.

Nel libro, confezionato con cura da AmigurumiPatterns, ci sono 15 schemi per realizzare 15 animali amigurumi disegnati da 13 designer sparse in tutto il mondo. La prevendita è iniziata il 6 febbraio e continuerà fino al 27 febbraio, come fare per acquistare una copia?

Tra un topo sui trampoli e un tricheco marinaio mi piace scendere giù dalle nuvole e pensare a qualcosa di semplice, magari un accessorio per il freddo da realizzare in tempi contenuti per poterlo indossare entro l'inverno. Così è nato questo set di guanti e cappello e l'ho chiamato Walnut.

I capi e gli accessori all'uncinetto non sono sempre spettacolari e degni di nota come quelli realizzati a maglia. Ed io vorrei tanto, nel mio piccolo, mattone dopo mattone, provare a sfatare questo mito. Anche con l'uncinetto possiamo realizzare capi confortevoli, belli e ben disegnati. Io ci voglio provare! Ho iniziato qualche anno fa con i cappelli e la mantella (che sono schemi gratuiti!), lo scorso anno ho continuato grazie a Crowdknitting e adesso, prima di iniziare nuove avventure, procedo da sola.

In realtà non mi sento sola. Ci sei tu, voi, le amiche vicine e lontane che grazie agli scambi di telefonate, commenti e messaggi mi fanno capire com'è visto l'uncinetto in giro per il mondo. E tu, come lo vedi?
Lo preferisci alle altre tecniche per qualche motivo preciso? Sei soddisfatta dagli schemi che si trovano in giro (sia a pagamento che gratuiti)? Cosa vorresti vedere/fare?

Il mio punto di vista, dall'interno, è certamente un po' distorto. Vedo tantissimi, ma tantissimi, schemi meravigliosi, idee che vorrei aver avuto io e realizzate alla perfezione e vedo anche tante cose che non replicherei neanche sotto tortura. Però l'uncinetto resta sempre in secondo piano rispetto alla maglia (che io adoro al pari dell'uncinetto, non ho nulla contro di lei!) ed io mi batterò per la parità dei diritti :D

Insomma, doveva essere un post per presentare questo nuovo schema ed è diventato un comizio sull'uncinetto. Però Walnutè sempre disponibile su Ravelry, nello stesso pdf è incluso lo schema per realizzare i guanti senza dita e il cappello e fino al 21 Febbraio è al 50% di sconto!

Between a stilt walker mouse and a sailor walrus I get my head out of the clouds and think about something that fit with the reality, something simple, maybe an accessory for the winter I can make in a short time. That is how I designed this set of fingerless gloves and hat, called Walnut.

Crochet garments and accessories are not always spectacular and noteworthy as those made knitted. And I would love in my own small way, step by step, trying to dispel this myth. Even with a crochet hook we can make comfortable, beautiful and well designed garments. I want to try! I started  a few years ago with some hats and a cape (they are free patterns!). Last year I continued thanks to Crowdknitting and now, before starting new adventures, I proceed alone.

Actually I do not feel alone. You are here, reading my blog, and other friends by calls, comments and messages make me understand how they see the crochet world. And you, how do you see it?
Do you prefer other techniques for some specific reason? What would you like to see / do?

My point of view, from the inside, is certainly a bit distorted. I see many, but many, beautiful patterns, ideas that I would have liked to have and crochet items perfectly realized. I also see so many things that do not make even under torture. But the crochet is always overshadowed by the knitting world and I will fight for equal rights :D (I love both, I have nothing against knitting!)

Dopo I Knit Fandango e il Knitting & Stitching Show di Londra mi sono immersa in una nuova fiera piena di filati e produttori locali, tra montagne di matasse da toccare e coccolare: Unravel.
La mia compagna di viaggio è sempre Kate di Made by Kate, riusciamo sempre a distinguerci per le nostre abitudini pacate e silenziose tra gli stand (sperando che tra gli avventori e gli espositori Inglesi, nessuno capisca le idiozie che ci diciamo in Italiano mentre spupazziamo i gomitoli!).

My traveling mate is always Kate (Made by Kate), we always manage to stand out for our habits among the stalls (hoping that nobody understands the stupid things we say in Italian!).

Partiamo dall'inizio: Unravel è una fiera per gli appassionati di filati, filatura, tessitura, tintura, maglia, uncinetto... si tiene ogni anno a Farnham, un caratteristico paesino nel Surrey, in un interessantissimo posto chiamato Farnham Maltings. Qui, oltre ad alcune fiere e workshop in tema craft, si tengono spettacoli teatrali, proiezioni cinematografiche, conferenze, concerti. Abbraccia e sostiene la cultura in ogni sua forma ed espressione, è un posto da amare.

Let's start from the beginning: Unravel is a festival of knitting for people fond of yarns, spinning, weaving, dyeing, knitting, crochet... is held every year in Farnham, in Surrey, in a very interesting place called Farnham Maltings. Here, in addition to some craft fairs and workshops, they hold theater performances, film screenings, lectures, concerts. It embraces and sustains the culture in all its forms and expression, it is a place to love.

Unravel non è stato solo questo, non conosco abbastanza aggettivi positivi per poter descrivere tutto e non ho una SD abbastanza grande nella macchina fotografica... tra le mie foto non ci sono Sincerly Louise, Kettle yarn, Easyknits, Yarn in the City, Triskelion yarn e tanti altri ancora che vale la pena di conoscere. Spero comunque di averti fatto fare un giro lungo, ma interessante, e di averti fatto conoscere qualche realtà nuova per alimentare ancora di più (se possibile!) la passione per questo mondo.
L'ultima foto non poteva che essere quella delle nostre facce stanche, ma contente! Tra qualche giorno ci sarà il post di Kate, sul suo blog, quindi le foto non sono finite!!!

È appena iniziato Marzo, non so se sono incredibilmente in ritardo o sorprendentemente in anticipo, ma oggi penso al mare, le onde, la sabbia, i sassi, il sole (e l'ombrellone). Così da oggi è disponibile su Ravelry lo schema per realizzare all'uncinetto questo sacchetto-borsetta.

Il lavoro procede riga dopo riga, onda dopo onda, e si ottiene un ottimo risultato anche senza il cambio di colori. Sulla pagina Ravelry ci sono tutte le informazioni sul filato utilizzato (DMC Natura) e sulle misure... e si possono vedere i sacchetti già realizzati dalle tester.

March is just started, I do not know if I'm incredibly late or surprisingly forward, but today I'm thinking about sea, waves, sand, rocks, sun (and beach umbrella). So now it is available on Ravelry the pattern to crochet this brawstring bag.
